Kesar Pulao

Kesar, or Saffron, is considered an integral part of cooking all over the world. The spice derived from the flower of the saffron has a wonderful aroma which attracts the true connoisseur of food. Kesar Pulao is a royal dish which had been regularly taken by the early royal kings and courtiers. Nowadays, people have started preparing different types of Kesar Pulao varying their ingredients and cooking techniques.

If you expect to have a delectable dish of pulao, the following ingredients like, long grain (basmati) Rice, Sugar, Cardamom, strands of Saffron (kesar), cloves, Mixed Dry fruits (Pista, cashewnut, almond), Raisins, saffron (kesar) color, pure ghee, mustard seeds, silver paper(varak), etc. the assortment of all these ingredients will give a mouthwatering taste to the one of the popular Indian Recipe Categories. Those who are not aware about cooking Kesar Pulao must start the preparation by washing the rice and adding them over boiling water with a simmered flame. Later sugar and ghee has to be added when the rice is half done. After you realize that the rice is fully done, add the saffron, cardamom, cloves and half of the dry fruit. As you stir the mixture gently, you have to cover it for 10 minutes. In the end the pulao has to be garnished with remaining dry fruit and silver paper. The hot kesar pulao is ready to make a deep impression on your mind.
