Lamb Curry

This is one dish that will leave you wanting for more. Yes, lamb curry is delicious. You might as well have tasted Fried Chicken Meal and Fried Shrimp, but have you tried lamb curry. This non-vegetarian American dish is spicy. It is a classic dish from North India. Popular among all the curry preparations, Lamb Curry is one dish that you must have. There are many ways of preparing Lamb Curry. What’ more, you can substitute other ingredients instead of lamb or just vary the cooking time. Garnishing is also important – it invites you to taste. Lamb Curry is a very popular dish among the Americans. It is served in restaurants. It is also prepared in homes and it is as delicious as the ones served in the restaurants. It is easy to prepare and doesn’t take much of time. Let’s find out what are the ingredients used in preparing Lamb Curry.
The ingredients for the preparation of Lamb Curry are:

  • 2 pounds of lamb, chopped and cut into one-inch pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onion
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 3 cardamom pods
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 (3-inch) cinnamon stick
  • 2 tablespoons of ginger(minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander seeds
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 cups finely chopped plum tomato (about 1/2 pound)
  • 2 teaspoons Garam Masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro



    All you need to do is to heat a pan with oil over medium-high heat. Add lamb and cook for at least 5 minutes till it turns brown. Set aside the lamb from pan. Again, heat the oil and add onion, 5 whole cloves, 3 cardamom pods, 2 bay leaves, and 1 (3-inch) cinnamon stick.

    Cook for 4 minutes till the onion turns brown. Add 1 tablespoon ground coriander seeds, 1 tablespoon paprika, 2 tablespoons minced peeled fresh ginger, 2 teaspoons Garam Masala, 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper, 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric and 2 garlic cloves, (minced). Cook for one minute. Put in lamb, tomato, and water, not to mention salt and boil it for 1 1/2 hours. Mix in 1/4 cup cilantro. The remaining 1/4 cup cilantro is sprinkled over the preparation. Lamb Curry is ready to be served!
