When it comes to talk about cooking Chinese dishes, there will be money people who will show interest. Chinese cuisines are a favorite with most of the people and for the foodies, Chinese is like a blessing. However, even though Chinese dishes are discussed quite a lot, people rarely know much about the Chinese desserts. Chinese to most people is stir-fried dishes, with soy sauced rice or noodles. In Chinese cooking, Chinese desserts do not feature very prominently. This is because, while the westerners go for desserts in the evening, the Chinese stick to fruits. However, it is not the Chinese do not have sweet tooth, but it is not overly popular in the country.
One of the popular Chinese desserts is the Peking Dust, a soft and sticky concoction with chestnuts and whipped cream. Another popular dessert featuring bold in the list of the Chinese Desserts cuisines is the Almond Tea. This is a traditional almond tea which used to be prepared by hand grinding in the olden days. Raw rice and almonds were and mixed with tea. These days one gets ready made rice flour and almond paste. However, to it one can also add agar-agar or unflavored gelatin to make Almond Junket. Then there is a rice pudding which is popular as the eight treasure pudding, also called eight precious rice. Assorted with colorful fruits like maraschino cherries and the sweet dates, this is an unique dessert.



Fruits form an important part of the Chinese desserts and are a healthy substitute than the normally fatty desserts. The fruit desserts of China comprise of luscious tropical fruits like mandarin oranges, mangos and lychees. They are eaten many a times, marinated in liqueur. Steamed fruit with honey syrup, like steamed pears with wine and honey makes for a lip smacking Chinese dessert. Fritters, fruits covered with batter and fried and sprinkled with sugar make for an amazing dessert. So when you go out experimenting with the popular International cuisines, do remember these tasty dessert treats.
