Arroz Con Pollo is one of the most aromatic Mexican Non- Vegetarian Dishes; this preparation is known for its unique and inviting aroma. We provide you with the information about the ingredients required for cooking Arroz Con Pollo along with its recipe. The ingredients that you will need for cooking Arroz Con Pollo are:

  • fryer chicken ( cut up into pieces )
  • Cooking oil
  • chopped onion
  • long grain rice
  • chicken broth
  • frozen peas
  • smashed tomatoes
  • minced garlic
  • pepper
  • salt
  • pimentos ( they should be cut in strips )

Fry the chicken in hot oil for about fifteen minutes. Once the chicken turns brown, remove them from the pan. Do not drain the drippings that remain in the pan. Fry the rice slightly with those remaining drippings and then, cook the rice with onion and garlic. Carry on with this process until the rice turns golden brown. After a while, add chicken broth, salt, pepper and squashed tomatoes. Now, boil the whole mixture. Do not forget to stir the mixture during its process of boiling.

Otherwise, the rice tends to stick to the pan. After a short while, place the pieces of chicken on the boiled rice mixture. Then cover the whole thing, and then cook it for nearly half an hour on low heat. You may simmer it more, but certainly not more than forty minutes. The simmering process should be ended when the pieces of chicken are tended properly. Add peas to the mixture and then, cook the mixture for five minutes more. At last, garnish with the strips of pimento. The Arroz Con Pollo is now ready to serve.
